Overview:

In the realm of SportsTech, where passion meets innovation, seismic changes are underway. Technology is reshaping sports from recruitment to fan engagement, opening new doors for athletes to maximize their potential. RAWW, founded by former professional athletes and coaches, aimed to empower student-athletes on their journey to dream colleges and careers beyond sports.

My  Role and Contribution: As the design lead for RAWW, my role was pivotal in driving the platform's success. My contributions were instrumental in addressing the unique needs of both student-athletes and recruiters.

Design Challenge

The challenge was multifaceted. For student-athletes, I envisioned crafting an application that transcended mere functionality. It had to be their companion—a tool that resonated with their language, offered unwavering support, and kept them motivated. My goal was to create an app that was intuitive, trendy, and engaging.On the flip side, recruiters and coaches required an efficient, dependable, and professional tool to streamline their recruitment process. My focus was on crafting an application that simplified their roles, making them more effective.However, it wasn't just about function; it was about creating delight. I aimed to develop a brand that appealed to both demographics—a fusion of style and substance, a brand identity that resonated with student-athletes and coaches alike, fostering a sense of belonging.

Solution

Through close collaboration with the RAWW team, I led the development of a mobile app that catered to the needs of student-athletes, recruiters, and coaches. The app not only assists student-athletes in securing college spots but also offers a unique opportunity to explore NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) monetization in an engaging way. It amplifies their exposure to recruiters, delivers personalized recommendations, and guides them through NIL monetization. RAWW simplifies the lives of student-athletes, paving the way to college success with an enhanced user experience.

Branding Phase

In the branding phase, I conducted exhaustive research into the target audience. I designed a system that incorporated contemporary trends while retaining a timeless appeal. Collaborating closely with the founding team, I crafted a visual identity that resonated with both student-athletes and coaches. My subject matter expertise contributed to the development of a professional yet engaging design.

Results

The beta testing phase of the RAWW app yielded outstanding results, with exceptional feedback from both student-athletes and coaches. The app witnessed a surge in beta user registrations, and the impact it will have on the recruitment process for student-athletes is eagerly anticipated. My branding and design solutions have not only helped the founding team achieve their goals but have also led to increased user engagement and business success.
